Length: 1,2km - Linear
Estimated duration: 30 minutes
Difficulty rate: 3
Starting point: Between Platres church (Faneromenis Church) and Platres center.
You can also get to the waterfall by car through a dirt road from the main road Platres - Limassol about 1 km. after Tall Tree (Psilo Dendro), but you will miss all the beauty this trail has to offer.
The trail to Millomeris Waterfall begins with a downhill walk through thick greenery. For the first part, the path runs alongside the Krios (Cold) River, so you hear the sound of water as you walk. After a small uphill section, the trail opens up and you get wide mountain views looking south.
The name Millomeris comes from the Cypriot words “millos,” which means wet, and “meros,” which means place. The waterfall got this name because it is tucked away in a shady spot that doesn’t get direct sunlight, so it always stays cool and damp. A few years ago it was difficult to reach, but now a proper nature trail and road make it much easier.
At 15 meters high, Millomeris is one of the tallest natural waterfalls in Cyprus. It is just outside the village of Platres, and the walk to it is about 1.2 km long. Most people take around 30 to 40 minutes to reach it. The path is not hard, but it can be rocky in places, so good walking shoes are best.
The waterfall looks different depending on the season. In spring, after the rain, it is at its strongest, while in summer the flow is lighter but still worth seeing. At the bottom of the waterfall there is a small pool where the water collects. Some people dip their feet or even take a quick swim, but the water is very cold, even in the heat.
Along the way you pass through pine trees, wild plants, and flowers. The whole walk feels peaceful and close to nature.
To enjoy it without too many people around, it is best to come early in the morning or outside the busy summer weekends.
