Length: 3km - Circular
Estimated duration: 1.5 hours
Difficulty rate: 2
Starting point:
Near the Madari fire lookout station, at the ending point of Selladi tou Karamanli and the Doxa soi o Theos - Madari trail. You can also access the fire lookout station by car from the Chandria – Polystypos road, heading towards the tip of Adelfoi mountain (around 3km). The road is paved, except of the last 800 metres where it becomes a narrow dirt road.
The Teisia tis Madaris Trail is located at an altitude of around 1,600 meters in the Troodos Mountains, offering some of the most beautiful and wide-reaching views in Cyprus. From the trail, hikers can enjoy sights of the Troodos peaks, the Solia valley, the Mesaoria plain, and several nearby villages, including Kannavia, Agia Eirini, Lagoudera, and Polystipos. You’ll also see the Xyliatos Dam and parts of the scenic Pitsilia region.
This hiking trail lies within the Adelfoi Forest and is part of the Madari–Papoutsa Natura 2000 protected area, known for its natural beauty and rich biodiversity. The highlight of the route is the series of tall vertical rock formations, known as Teisia, which look like giant stone walls rising from the earth—an impressive sight that gives the trail its name.
Ideal for nature lovers and experienced hikers, the Teisia tis Madaris trail combines natural charm, unique geological features, and peaceful surroundings, making it one of the top hiking spots in the Troodos region.
